Thank you for the excellent presentation on the Martin Marlin P5-M. I flew as a Radio Operator/Electrical Panel Distribution Operator in P5-M’s from 1962 to 1964. I was attached to VP-31, the Pacific Fleet Replacement Air Group squadron, based at North Island Naval Air Station.
It was an experience for a 19 year old youth.
I regret that the presentation did not take us into the aircraft. There actually was two levels in the forward part of the aircraft…the lower electronics bay and access to the nose, and the flight deck where the Radio, Julie, Jezebel, Radar operators, along with the TACCO operator and the Crew Chief were situated. It was another two steps up from the flight deck to the Pilot and Co-Pilot’s station.
I will show this video to my children and grand children. Thanks again.
